About
Curtis Bigelow’s life has been defined by perseverance, faith, and a belief in education as the ultimate tool for transformation. Raised in Mebane, North Carolina, Curtis excelled early as a student-athlete at Eastern Alamance High School, earning multiple cross-country honors, a Sportsmanship Award, and recognition for school spirit—early indicators of the leadership qualities that would guide his life. After experiencing both success and setbacks in law enforcement, Curtis found clarity in what he calls his “rightful calling”: teaching. As a JROTC instructor for 14 years, he mentored students not only in academics and leadership, but in resilience, responsibility, and service to others. His classroom became a place where lived experience met education—where lessons were grounded in honesty, discipline, and grace. Curtis holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and believes strongly in using education to connect with people and share wisdom earned through experience. His definition of success is simple but powerful: giving 100 percent for an honest day’s work. Guided by daily prayer and faith, he views obstacles not as endings, but as preparation for deeper purpose. Today, Curtis continues writing, teaching, and running alongside his wife—literally and figuratively—as an avid marathon runner and ballroom dancer. His future goals remain focused on education: writing impactful books, serving in higher education leadership, and helping families equip children for academic success. For Curtis Bigelow, longevity, servanthood, and learning are inseparable.
